What I Do in the Herd

I live and breathe mobile! I serve as TechnoBuffalo’s senior editor of mobile where I spend my days browsing feeds for the latest breaking news stories, traveling to trade shows around the world, unboxing and filming devices and bringing you in-depth reviews and features.

Best Thing About Being In the Herd: The herd itself, which employs several of the best karaoke singers in the world, and getting to travel to southern California where I work from the TechnoBuffalo headquarter offices from time to time. I also get to wake up and write about the freshest gadgets in my pajamas every day – what’s not to love?

Where I Live and Work: New York, NY

When I’m Not Working I’m Into:
Cruising on my Stereo Vinyl skateboard, spending time at the beach, trying to finish the Game of Thrones series of books and pwning noobs in Battlefield 3 on my Xbox 360. Also, J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

Tech Arsenal

Computer of Choice: 13-inch MacBook Air for daily work but I still dust off my Toshiba NB205 netbook every now and then.

Mobile Phone of Choice: iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy Note and I can’t wait to get my hands on Nokia’s Lumia 900.

Gaming System of Choice: Xbox 360, but I really want to build a new box and get back into PC gaming.

Other Favorite Gadgets: Zaggsparq 2.0, Nintendo 3DS, Boxee box, iPad 2, my Skullcandy Aviator headphones, Nixon watches.

Random Tech Top 5 (phones I have loved but have never owned): Nokia N95, HTC Titan, iPhone 4S, Nokia E72, the original BlackBerry Bold.

Gadgets I’m Lusting After: Nokia Lumia 900, Samsung Galaxy Note LTE, Nixon 42-20 Chrono watch.

Surfing The Interwebs

Favorite Web Sites: Reddit,, Touch Arcade, Facebook, Twitter
Web Sites I Don’t Understand: Pinterest – do we really need another social network?

What I Did Before TechnoBuffalo: I started in tech as an intern for MaximumPC and began freelancing for Tom’s Hardware Guide and Ars Technica during my senior year at Lehigh University. After school, I joined Ars Technica as an assistant editor before moving on to LAPTOP Magazine as a staff writer. After about three years there I moved on to as a senior editor and then BGR as a staff writer.

Worst Job Ever: Hollywood Video, just like Jon Rettinger except I didn’t have to wear the bowtie!

Best Job Ever (besides this one): Summer lifeguard at a local pool. I was paid to sit in the sun and listen to 80’s rock all day.

Random Things You Don’t Know About Me: I studied English and creative writing (with a focus on poetry) in college. I’m an avid collector of colorful shoes. I’m a twin!
