What I Do in the Herd
I’m the voice behind “What’s Up Everyone” in the TechnoBuffalo videos. Most of my day is spent on the business end of the company, but by far the highlight of herd-dom is the chance to get my professional geek on with the rest of the staff.
Best Thing About Being in the Herd: The rare opportunity to talk about what I love for a living. My job is a dream come true and one I feel incredibly lucky to have. Harassing Sean in our company chatroom…also a huge perk.
Location
Where I Live and Work: Irvine, CA
When I’m Not Working I’m Into: Sports, after all, the Lakers are what I’m 4. I’m huge into Southern California sports, so when I’m not reading tech blogs or creating content, I’m catching up with my beloved Angels and Lakers. I’m big into cars, and love to watch videos on the latest automotive technologies.
Tech Arsenal
Computer of Choice: 27” (Core i7) iMac for the heavy lifting, 11” MacBook Air for the travel.
Mobile Phone of Choice: Bright red iPhone 4 and HTC Inspire…I refuse to call the Inspire “4G,” though.
Gaming System of Choice: Xbox 360. I’m not sure why, but I’ve always gravitated more towards the 360. My wife and I do love getting our Mario Brothers on though, so our Wii often gets dusted off.
Other Favorite Gadgets: I am never far away from my iPad, Sony NEX-5 (I’m starting to learn about photography), and my regular video camera, the now beat up Sony HDR-SR11.
Random Tech Top 5: Tech Fails of the past few years: Spot Watch, HD-DVD, Microsoft Kin(s), Windows Mobile on Palm, and the Nintendo 3DS.
Gadgets I’m Lusting After: Tesla Model S and the Fisker Karma for sure. That’s some hot electric action!
Surfing the InterWebs
Favorite Web Sites: ESPN, SI (I read the Truth & Rumors section everyday), CNET, Facebook, Twitter, and Autoblog
Web Sites I Don’t Understand: I’m with Noah on Foursquare. I tried it and found it a bit creepy…people knowing where I was all the time. Sean is a Foursquare fiend though.
History
What I Did Before TechnoBuffalo: Marketing Director at a software development company, Advertising for Honda & Acura, and Nerd.
Worst Job Ever: Hollywood Video (anyone remember video stores?) I had to wear a bowtie, cummerbund, and my nametag said ‘James Bond.’
Best Job Ever (besides this one): I was a camp counselor in college. I got paid to play sports, get tan, and mingle with friends.
Mystery
Random Thing You Don’t Know About Me: I’m going to play the two truths and a lie game….see if you can guess.
- I was legally blind in my left eye as a child and had to wear an eye patch for 2 years.
- I’ve dislocated both shoulders. One happened playing Soccer (Futbol if you are so inclined), during a slide tackle, and the other during a martial arts sparring match (It looks super gross).
- I have a secret Twitter account I use to post my personal thoughts.
