Ahead of next week’s Geneva Motor Show, McLaren has taken the wraps off its second-generation Super Series, which the automaker says incorporates a new folding driver display.
When in “Full Display Mode,” the screen will provide drivers with comprehensive vehicle information, such as speed, miles driven, audio, media, navigation, and other stats. The “Slim Display Mode,” meanwhile, will provide drivers with “only essential information.”
You can see it transform before you very eyes in the video below.
It’s like a Transformer
“The Folding Driver Display is revolutionary in offering both a choice of information shown and physical position, seamlessly complementing driver preferences while at the same time furnishing a glorious piece of engineering theatre,” said Mark Vinnels, Executive Director of Produce development at McClaren.
The 8-inch display is in Full Display Mode by default but can be put into slim mode with the touch of a button.
According to McLaren, the second-generation Super Series will be shown off more in-depth on March 7, which is when the automaker will also share more images of the car.
