EA and BioWare have put together a video showing off what gamers will get when they buy the collector's edition of Mass Effect 3 next year. The whole thing includes an art book, a patch, a metal tin, in-game content and more.

The video comes by way of VG247, so ignore the European launch date and format if you live in North America. This does not signify a crazy delay for this upcoming game.

The art book is the one thing in the set that's actually moving me to consider making the purchase. I touched on this briefly in my recent editorial about the death of video game instruction booklets, but I really do miss the inclusion of character, item, weapon and vehicle art in great gaming manuals. As those features quickly become a thing of the past, the only way for me to get my fix is by either buying strategy guides or great collector's editions.

This book checks in at 70 pages, is hardbound and features full color illustrations. Hear that? That's the sound of nerds everywhere opening their velcro wallets and tearing out their cash.

The collector's edition of Mass Effect 3 is currently available for pre-order at retailers for right around $80. The game itself is set to launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms on March 6th, 2012. We'll have more on this hotly anticipated RPG as it comes.
