Fair warning to fans distraught over the absence of Hawkeye and Ant-Man in the Avengers: Infinity War poster. Marvel this week released 22 new character posters for the upcoming flick, and the two heroes are nowhere to be found.
Marvel released a series of Tweets with the new posters, with a quote about the power of teamwork.
“There was an idea to bring together a group of remarkable people to see if we could become something more.” The quote comes from a conversation in which Nick Fury explains the idea behind the Avengers Initiative.
Which is funny, because Mr. Fury doesn’t get a character poster despite playing a pivotal role in bringing the Avengers together. Pretty much everyone else does, though, including Okoye (Danai Gurira), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and War Machine (Don Cheadle).
It’s pretty incredible that Marvel was able to bring such a wide pool of talent together, culminating in a massive battle with Thanos (Josh Brolin). No doubt, Avengers: Infinity War is one of the most ambitious comic events in history, and it’ll all come to a head later this month.
Will Nick Fury be there? What about Hawkeye and Ant-Man? Judging by their conspicuous absence from all marketing, it doesn’t bode well for these characters, who for all we know are just sitting at home enjoying some coffee.
The posters are all pretty great—the shot of Tom Holland wearing his new Spidey suit looks awesome. Which one is your favorite? Check them out in the gallery above.
