Apple talked a lot about the iPhone and the Apple Watch during today’s event, but its latest software updates for other devices got some attention near the end of the presentation.
The major upgrades for macOS and tvOS, are due out later this month. While not going into too much detail about their features, the operating systems for Mac computers and Apple TV set-top boxes were mentioned. If you have devices based on either platform, you should expect to see a software update in less than two weeks.
Mac computers will get macOS Mojave on Monday, September 24. It should be available around the world at the same time. Just be patient, and within a few hours on that day you’ll be enjoying Mojave.
In the new version of macOS, you get Dark Mode, Dynamic Desktop, and iOS app support. Apple also amped up the security on a system and browser level.
Meanwhile, as for the Cupertino-based company’s home entertainment platform, it’ll get an upgrade on September 17. The new version, tvOS 12, continues moving toward the cord-cutting lifestyle. tvOS 12 introduces Dolby Atmos and Vision, Zero Sign-on, and immersive screensavers.
By the way, iOS 12 will reach millions of iPhone models on September 17 as well.
