If you, like me, are currently pushing through the Kalos region in order to defeat gym leaders and conquer the Elite Four, you might want to sit up and pay attention. If you save your copy of Pokémon X and Y in certain spots of Lumiose City, you risk running into a bug that will cause you to lose your progress so far.
The heroes at GamesBeat grabbed Nintendo of Japan’s handy infographic. That’s what you see at the head of this post. The blue portion of the map makes up the areas where you shouldn’t save your game. Doing so could force a game-breaking glitch. Nintendo, according to GamesBeat, indicated that you can save inside buildings along these stretches and not incur the bug.
Nintendo made the graphic, so they clearly know about the bug. In addition to putting that image out for trainers to make use of, Game Freak is currently in the process of building a patch for the game. Once it’s out, you’ll be able to download it from the eShop.
Happy battling, friends. Stay safe out there in the tall grass.
