Microsoft recently announced a new software update for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL that sounds like it fixes many issues, including some of the ones we noted in our review of the Lumia 950.

The new firmware offers a focus on camera performance, fixing “noisy images in low-light conditions” and 4K video issues that caused “stripes to show up while playing back recorded videos.” Additionally, Microsoft said that the patch should improve stability and performance, improve microSD card support and will fix bugs related to the display brightness.

Microsoft explained that the update is rolling out gradually and that availability may vary by carrier, but users can manually check for it by navigating to Settings > Update & Security > Phone update > Check for updates.
