Just a day before Nokia’s expected to unveil a host of new devices at its Oct. 22 event, the company’s rumored Guru music-player has leaked online, in addition to a picture of its new Lumia 1520 phablet, courtesy of @evleaks.

The professional mobile leaker clearly wasn’t kidding earlier this month when he hinted that the new product would resemble the iPod Shuffle. Based on the new image, we’re looking at a near-identical design to Apple’s smallest MP3 player, which will likely come in a number of color options including the blue model pictured above.

The biggest difference between the Nokia Guru and Apple’s iPod Shuffle will allegedly be the inclusion of NFC, which would likely be used to easily share music between devices. Earlier today, @evleaks also retweeted a post from Tom Warren, a reporter at The Verge who suggested the device will be “more like a Bluetooth headset. While the leaked photo doesn’t necessarily support this theory, the fact that @evleaks shared Warren’s post means we shouldn’t automatically discount it.

Meanwhile, the Lumia 1520 is expected to pack a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, a 6-inch 1080p display, likely Windows Phone 8.1 and a 20-megapixel PureView camera. As we can see in the image, Nokia will very likely continue its trend of releasing Windows Phones in a variety of colors. We also see the “Treasure Tag” key fob, which can probably be used to locate a lost phone.

We’re definitely a bit surprised to hear that Nokia may make a push into the MP3 player business. The rise of smartphones with built-in music players has taken a huge bite out of the once-popular market, and even Apple has put the breaks on its iPod business, instead focusing on releasing new iPhones and iPads.

Then again, this may be Nokia’s last big press event before Microsoft takes over is mobile business, and with the company expected to unveil six new devices this may be the Finnish company’s only chance to launch the Guru. Our bet is that the Lumia 1520 is the star of the show, however.
