Why has Luke Skywalker been withheld from Star Wars trailers and marketing? J.J. Abrams refuses to tell us, which means we're left to speculate about the character's fate.

There have been numerous rumors about his whereabouts—some say he's hiding in a dark corner of the galaxy, while others believe he's Kylo Ren. But did anyone stop to think that he was emotionally distraught with the massive pile of bodies he wracked up on his quest to save the galaxy?

When you stop and think about it, Luke Skywalker is one of the universe's most ruthless killers, expertly wiping people out like it's nobody's business. In one instance, he eviscerates an entire city's worth of people in one fell swoop. No wonder the First Order is painting him as an evil murderer in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The video above is by Mr. Sunday Movies and it lays out Luke's kill count over the course of the first three movies—and these are the kills we know about. Who knows what he's been up to over the last 30 years. Was he overcome by such deep remorse that he had to hide from his friends and family, for fear he'd murder them, too? Unlikely, but you can sure make the argument based on the above video.

How much higher will his 369,470 body count get when the new movie rolls around? We'll find out on Dec. 18.
