I’m not sure if this fan really wanted to genuinely fund a sequel to Life is Strange, or if they were just trying to get developer Dontnod and publisher Square Enix’s attention.

Scott Ashby took to Kickstarter with a Life is Strange 2 campaign. His goal was to raise $20,000. From there, he was set to either get Dontnod to make the sequel or buy the IP and hire another dev to do it.

The campaign has, of course, been canceled. How did it even get approved in the first place?

Here’s what the Kickstarter page now says in place of the campaign.

Life is Strange 2 (Canceled) is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable.

Obviously, right?

Life is Strange was great, though. Here’s hoping that Square Enix and Dontnod were already planning to release a sequel. The full first run of episodes is out now on PlayStation 4 and PC.

Life is strange, right?
