Earlier this month we saw the first press images of LG’s mysterious curved smartphone—allegedly called the G Flex despite the fact that it clearly is not a flexible device. Now, what appear to be the first photos and video of the device have leaked online courtesy of Argentinian tech journalist Federico Ini, who inexplicably managed to get his hands on the rumored phone.
Ini filmed a hands-on video of the G Flex for his news program Telefe Noticias and shared a few photos on Twitter. He also sent a batch of pictures to The Verge, which reveal that the device’s buttons are located on its back panel, similar to the LG G2. The curved smartphone also allegedly features a 13-megapixel camera and a 6-inch OLED display curved on its vertical axis.
Like Samsung’s curved handset, the Galaxy Round, Ini reports that the G Flex will launch exclusively in South Korea when it gets released next month. The Galaxy Round was officially announced earlier this month, but supply seems limited. Unfortunately it looks like this may be the case for LG’s device as well, though we won’t know anything for sure until the company makes an official announcement.
