Last week we covered a report suggesting that Google will soon launch two new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches built by LG. Now we’re back with a picture of the devices that were provided by a source. Pardon the blurriness, it’s the largest image we could obtain.
One watch dubbed the LG Watch Sport (black) while the more petite model on the right is dubbed the LG Watch Style (Gold), two names revealed by Evan Blass on Venture Beat last week. In that report, we learned the larger 1.38-inch 480 x 480-pixel round LG Sport smartwatch will offer a 430mAh battery and 768MB of RAM while the smaller watch will provide a 240mAh battery and 512MB of RAM. The smaller watch also has a 1.2-inch 360 x 360-pixel display.
The LG Watch Sport appears to offer a rubber strap and a metallic body. The LG Watch Style also appears to be metallic but may ship with leather straps. My guess is there will be plenty of options available; I’m just dissecting what I see in the picture above. One other thing worth noting: there are three buttons on the LG Sport while the LG Style offers just a single crown. I hope Google has standardized input with Android Wear 2.0 a bit, so I’m a bit confused by the discrepancy.
LG Watch Sport and Watch Style comingwith Android 2.0 on Feb. 9
Both watches are supposed to make their debut at a Google-hosted event on February 9, where we should learn about Google Assistant integration into the new wearables. Google has yet to announce an event. An LG spokesperson was not immediately available to comment on the images.
