LG and Prada are set to unveil their latest Android smartphone at a press event in London later today, but someone has already spoiled the surprise. These press shots of the LG Prada K2 — also known as the LG Prada 3 — have made their way onto the internet this morning.

Thanks to these images, we’re no longer wondering what the K2 will look like, but we still don’t know for certain what’s inside. However, we do have some idea. According to a recent report, the new device will feature a dual-core OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1GHz, and a high-definition 4.3-inch display. It will run Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread with a custom user interface that matches the device’s dark, dignified design.

There’s a microSD card slot for expanding the 8GB of internal storage, plus an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and an LED flash. According to the source that leaked the photos, it will also boast NFC capabilities.

It’s unclear whether the K2 will eventually get an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, but we will undoubtedly discover a lot more about this device later on today.

Despite its Gingerbread operating system, I’m pleasantly surprised by the K2’s (rumored) specifications. I was expecting this to be a low-end device with budget internals that would attempt to succeed solely on its Prada name tag, but it seems that’s certainly not the case.

What do you think of the LG Prada K2?
