Verizon Wireless announced the latest Windows Phone on Thursday and, unlike most that have been announced over the past several months, it's not made by Microsoft. Instead, it's the LG Lancet, and it launches this month.

The LG Lancet runs Windows Phone 8.1 and features a 4.5-inch display, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an 8-megapixel camera, a VGA front-facing camera, 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot for adding up to an additional 128GB of storage.

It has some unique features LG brought over from Android, too, like KnockOn security, which allows you to tap the screen in different quadrants to unlock the device. It's also the first Windows Phone to support HD voice calls using Verizon's Advanced Calling 1.0 system.

You can buy the LG Lancet online now, or in stores beginning on May 21. It's full retail price comes in at an affordable $120, but you can also pick it up on Verizon Edge for $5 per month across 24 months.
