In announcing the G7, LG joined a very select and infamous group. The key characteristic the G7 has is the notch. It follows the footsteps set forth a by a very striking smartphone: the iPhone X.
Apple’s flagship ushered in the era of notches when it announced the iPhone X last year. Inadvertently, this started a fad with multiple flagships using the notch, and the latest one is the G7.
The G7 may be copying the iPhone X, but it still holds its own when comparing the two. The comparison isn’t exactly an apples to apples comparison. Specs straight up, the G7 easily beats the iPhone X. But as we know by now, specs aren’t the end-all-be-all. The battle is close, with the G7’s impressive build helping it overcome some of the deficiencies its past predecessors have had. Each has a solid design, strong software benefits and key features like the dual camera systems and biometric sensors.
It’s too early to crown a winner, but you can check out the spec shootout down below and see exactly how the two flagships stack up head to head.
