Last we heard the LG’s G Flex was retailing in South Korea for about $940, but now we’re hearing the flexible device may be headed to U.S. shores to AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The news comes from trusted tipster @evleaks so there’s a good chance it’s accurate, though the carriers have yet to confirm the news.
The G Flex comes equipped with a 6-inch flexible OLED display, a curved 3500mAh battery, a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter. LG’s first flexible smartphone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with some version of the company’s own mobile software on top, though we hope it lands with Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 in the U.S.
Like LG’s flagship G2, the G Flex features the same back panel power and volume buttons as well as a “self healing” protective coat on the back to guard against daily wear-and-tear. This is the first we’ve heard that the G Flex smartphone may land in the U.S. and we hope @evleaks’ sources are right.
