Lenovo's Windows 8 ThinkPad Tablet 2 LeakedBack in March, a rumor claimed Lenovo was working to prepare the first Windows 8 tab to hit the market — that was before the Surface was announced. A new report, complete with leaked slides, is shedding more light on the project, including what kind of specs we might expect from future tabs running Microsoft’s new OS.

Photos obtained by The Verge reveal what appears to be Lenovo’s Windows 8 ThinkPad Tablet 2, and it’s being squarely aimed at businesses. It makes sense a manufacturer would take aim at the business crowd first, seeing as Microsoft’s suite of software is already widely used by millions of enterprise users across the globe. Plus, Lenovo has excelled in this space before with its ThinkPad laptops.

The device will reportedly pack a dual-core Intel Clover Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, optional pen input, NFC, a fingerprint reader, a keyboard dock, LTE / HSPA+ connectivity and a 10.1 WXGA display.

In addition, other slides acquired by Tech in 5, show that Lenovo is clearly positioning this to take on Apple’s iPad (check out the “Best in Class” slide below).

Otherwise, it’s unclear when the device is going to hit the market. Microsoft recently announced its Surface will arrive on October 26 alongside Windows 8, so perhaps we’ll see the ThinkPad Tablet 2 sometime around then.
