What you need to know

  • The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening will be released on September 20, 2019.
  • The game is headed to Nintendo Switch.
  • It's a remake of the Game Boy classic, with a new dungeon building mechanic.

Nintendo has finally revealed the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening: September 20, 2019.

The title, which Nintendo revealed earlier this year, is a remake of the original game for Game Boy. But it's not a direct 1:1 remake; Nintendo is actually adding new dungeon building mechanics called Chamber Dungeons.

In the short gameplay shown off by Nintendo, a player is shown stringing together a series of rooms to form a larger dungeon. Once players complete these dungeons, theyearn rewards.

The game looks as delightful as ever thanks to its cartoon-ish graphics. There's an irresistible charm, which is already overwhelming considering this is a Zelda title.

Before Zelda: Link's Awakening is released, players can experience another Zelda game, Cadence of Hyrule, when it launches on June 13.
