Nintendo is hoping that a blast through the past will hold fans over until it puts out the latest game Zelda Wii U that we all really want. It has confirmed The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be released on the Wii U on March 4, bringing hope and joy to the many fans who want to explore this title once again in HD. A new video from Nintendo Minute explains that Gamepad functions and the additions that amiibo bring to the fray.

I remember when The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess launched, and Gamespot, which was the “definitive” review site at the time, gave it only an 8.5, sending the Nintendo faithful into a venomous rage. In hindsight, I would say that was generous. The Twilight Princess has never been a favorite of mine, and every time I play it, I need to stop because of its snail pacing killing all of my motivation.

I’m hoping that this new package makes the same changes that Wind Waker’s HD remaster made as well, speeding up things and retooling what didn’t work. I like Twilight Princess’ dark and depressing mood, and I think there is plenty to make a good Zelda game here. There’s just a bit too much baggage holding it back. If Nintendo fixed that, I might give it another spin.
