When Google unveils the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL next month, the search giant may also introduce a wireless charger. 9to5Google found references to an unannounced device known as the “Pixel Stand,” with some images to boot.
Granted, the images are animated, and not actual product pictures. But they appear to provide a pretty good look at what the stand will look like, along with some of its functionality.
Apparently, when the Pixel is docked on the stand, the phone’s interface will change, providing users with larger touch controls and shortcuts for making phone calls, reading messages, and more. There may even be a function that will cycle the phone through Google Photos, with the Pixel 3 acting as a picture frame.
Google is set to announce two new smartphones at an event on October 9, we know that. But it’s looking very likely the company is gearing up to launch a companion dock, too.
