ipad-mini-skusInvites are out, and the rumors were (probably) right: Apple is preparing to officially unveil an iPad mini. As today’s teaser indicates, the Cupertino company has a little more to show us, suggesting the smaller tab is indeed incoming. But just how many “little mores” does Apple have in store? If a product SKU listing is anything to go by, quite a few.

According to 9to5Mac, up to 24 iterations of the device are planned, varying in color, storage and cellular capabilities. The four variants listed — P101, P103, P105 and P107 — are all tagged with “Good,” “Best,” and “Better,” suggesting there will be three capacities available at launch. My guess would be an 8GB, 16GB and 32GB, with the 8GB possibly landing for around $250.

“With rumors of a Lightning connector in an updated iPad 3, it is possible two of the four models are for that,” 9to5Mac noted.

As a little blip: Apple is allegedly planning to sell iPad minis to educational institutions in packs of 10.

9to5Mac wasn’t the only outlet to independently receive iPad mini SKUs, with AppleInsider also publishing a list with the same information. The biggest question still remains: How much will the devices cost? We might have an idea, but we won’t know for sure until Apple takes the stage next week.
