Earlier this week we got a first look at what just might be the HTC One M9. Now, we’re getting an unexpected peek at an even bigger handset from the Taiwanese phone-maker. Say hello to the HTC M9 Plus.

According to @leaksfly, the Twitter tipster who leaked the new photos, the HTC One M9 Plus will offer cutting edge specs, including a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM. It looks like the new phablet will also pack a Duo Camera setup in back, and what appears to be a fingerprint reader in front.

There’s something fishy about this leak, though we’re not sure exactly what. Maybe it’s that alleged fingerprint scanner, which looks suspiciously like a Samsung-style home button. Maybe it’s the Duo Camera, which we recently heard wouldn’t be included in this year’s HTC smartphones. Either way, we’ll definitely keep today’s rumor at an arm’s length until we see some more evidence.

HTC is expected to unveil the flagship One M9 and a rumored smartwatch at an event set for March 1, but we wouldn’t bet on the M9 Plus making an appearance at the same time. It could be a while before the alleged phablet gets an official unveiling, though of course we’ll be on the lookout for any more information.
