Kyocera’s here at CTIA Wireless 2012 and, so far, it’s one of the few handset manufacturers that have announced new handsets. Kyocera announced both the Rise and the Hydro on Tuesday, two Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich handsets, and we swung by its booth to check out the Rise. It’s basically the same phone as the Hydro but it packs a full QWERTY keyboard and isn’t water resistant. The Rise packs a 3.5-inch HVGA display with a rather poor 480 x 320-pixel resolution, a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon processor, 2GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, and EVO-DO Rev. A and 1X radios, which means it will probably land on Sprint or Virgin Mobile in the U.S. An official launch date, carrier partners and pricing have not yet been announced.
