We just swung by Kyocera’s booth during CTIA 2012 in New Orleans to check out one of its latest CDMA Android smartphones, the Hydro. Kyocera says that the Hydro is certified as “waterproof” against rain (or “sprayed water,” and that it can sit under one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The Hydro’s specs are similar to the Kyocera Rise, which was also announced today. It offers a 3.5-inch HVGA display with a relatively low 480 x 320-pixel resolution, a 1GHz MSM8655 Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and up to 32GB of storage. It also offers a 3.2-megapixel camera. The Hydro is equipped with EV-DO Rev. A and 1X radios, which means we’re probably either going to see this land on Sprint or Virgin Mobile, since Verizon Wireless has already promised to only offer 4G LTE devices for the rest of the year. Enjoy our hands on gallery below and stay tuned for more from CTIA Wireless 2012.
