Knack released to underwhelming reception way back in 2013 alongside the PlayStation 4, and Sony is finally giving the series a second stab with Knack 2. Previews, impressions, and the whole pre-E3 2017 extravaganza are up and running around the net, and generally speaking, the feeling about this sequel is much more positive than the first game.

Screenshots, especially those in 4K screen resolution, show that the art style hasn’t changed all that much since the first game either. Check them out in the gallery below.

No longer burdened with being a launch title

Knack was a game that just didn’t work out. It faced an uphill battle as a launch title that had to focus too much on graphical capabilities and not enough on smart game design or level flow. Sony hyped it to be the return of the era of great video game mascots, but it turned out to be a flop that annoyed more people rather than inspired them.

Regardless, this sequel should have had way more time to iron out the many issues players had with the first one. I just hope that Knack isn’t so much of a bro this time around.

Sony will have more information on Knack 2 at E3 2017, and it will be released for the PlayStation 4 this year.
