The launch trailer above is for the next potentially great open-world RPG, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning brings with it a pedigree that's both odd and outstanding. One of the game's developers, 38 Studios, was founded by Curt Schilling, the former baseball pitcher; the game's art was designed by Todd McFarlane of Spawn fame; fabled fantasy author R.A. Salvatore is responsible for the universe and lore; and the game's executive designer is Ken Rolston, the lead designer on bother The Elder Scrolls III and IV.

You can actually snag the demo right now if you're interested in the game. As a bonus, if you play the demo to completion, you'll unlock a few in-game items for use in Mass Effect 3. That's obviously a bit of EA's cross-promotion in action.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms next week on February 7th. Will you be getting it?
