How big of a difference is the HD face lift Square Enix is giving to Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep going to make? Check out the comparison in a new interactive trailer distributed by the Japanese publisher. Switch between the two versions with buttons at the top.

For one thing, this new version promises to be a lot brighter, fixing the dark tint which plagued the PlayStation 2 version. Jaggies are done away with and replaced with far smoother models, and most noticeably, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD is going to have alternate costumes for our heroes, especially when they visit Christmas Town with Jack Skellington.

Plus, I just always adore Mickey in these games. He’s absolutely ridiculous delivering those serious lines with that charming voice, and there’s nothing like watching him fight with a keyblade.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will be released for the PlayStation 3 on Dec. 2 for $39.99.
