We all know that the earbuds that come free with your new smartphone are no good. Even Apple’s fancy EarPods sound mediocre and start to hurt if you wear them for too long. But what if you had a pair of high-end headphones designed specifically to fit your own ears?

That’s the idea behind Revols, a new set of earbuds on Kickstarter that can mold to the shape of your ears in just 60 seconds.

Revols blew past its initial crowd-funding goal in just a few hours. Company co-founders Daniel Blumer and Navi Cohen actually had to push back our Skype interview to write a thank you note to early backers, and when we finally connected they were celebrating with a couple bottles of Snapple. Of course, hitting that initial goal is just the first step, and the pair have a few stretch goals in place to make the product even better.

“We’re not a fan of regular headphones,” Blumer told me. “They don’t fit my ears. My wife can’t handle them. The issue is it’s all a lie because they say your ears are as unique as your fingerprint. There’s no such thing as a standard earphone that can fit your ear personally.”

Revols are designed to make setup as simple as possible. When they come out of the box the earbud tips have a squishy consistency. Just slide them into your ears and trigger the hardening process using a special Revols app. After 60 seconds you should be ready to go. Once you mold the tips they’re stuck that way, but they also snap off of the rest of the earbud easily. So you can still share your Revols with another person.

Beyond their customizable shape, Revols are also designed to offer the best possible listening experience. The company partnered with Onkyo, a Japan firm known for high-end audio equipment. They’ve also included an adjustable soundscape feature, which lets you control exactly how much of the outside world you want to be able to hear using the Revols app.

There are a few similar products out there, but Blumer and Cohen aren’t worried about the competition. One low budget option called Decibullz promises the same experience for just $20, but only molds to the outer part of your eardrum. The setup process also requires pushing hot plastic into your ear.

Revols also connects to your phone over Bluetooth, so you don’t have to worry about wires. The earbuds promise eight hours of music, and come with a small clip that can add six more hours in a pinch. When you need to recharge it’s as simple as plugging into a USB port.

At the moment you can pre-order Revols on Kickstarter for $199, or grab two pairs for just $369. All orders are set to ship in July 2016.

There’s always some risk ordering a product on Kickstarter before production has even began, but the team behind Revols seems ready to take on a challenge. If you’re looking for the perfect pair of earbuds you may have just found them. Now all you have to do is wait.
