A federal judge has lifted the ban preventing the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. Samsung will now be allowed to launch the tablet in the country, provided it keeps sales records for the device.

Apple plans to appeal the decision, and the court has honored Apple’s request for the injunction to remain in effect until Friday (December 2) at 4pm in order for Apple to prepare that appeal.

A full hearing on the matter is scheduled for March 2012. Apple could still win that case, resulting in a permanent injunction against Galaxy Tab sales in the country.

Apple claims Samsung infringes on 10 of its patents with the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the two companies are currently involved in a number of similar suits around the world.
