A brand new Monster Hunter Stories trailer has arrived courtesy of Capcom. The game continues to look great, even in Japanese.

Capcom, you’ve been pretty good about bringing the Monster Hunter series beyond the borders of Japan. At least that’s true for the main games. The spin-offs? Not so much. Most spin-off titles, like Monster Hunter Frontier Online, Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village and Monster Hunter Frontier G never released worldwide.

I really hope you don’t see Stories as a game like those. Sure, it’s a different take on the Monster Hunter main line flavor, but Stories absolutely has the style and charm to appeal to western audiences. I mean, here I am looking at it and thinking it’s the most appealing Monster Hunter for my gaming habits. I can’t be alone, can I?

So, for now, dig into the trailer above like me. Monster Hunter Stories is slated to release in Japan on October 8, 2016. The rest of the world normally sees these games localized months and months after they initially launch, so if the rest of the world even gets to play Monster Hunter Stories, it won’t be until 2017.
