iPod Touch - 5th Gen - Chart Comparison

We've already heard rumors that Apple was planning to announce upgraded iPod touch units today, alongside the iPhone 5 announcement, and now KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has voiced his opinions on what we might expect. He doesn't think Apple will follow in the same tracks as last year, when it issued a minor upgrade to the iPod touch, and will instead launch the "biggest upgrade ever." So what can we expect?

Kuo says Apple will offer new colors. The company currently only offers black and white models, but the Apple signs outside the Yerba Buena Arts Center are loaded with color: perhaps that's a hint that Kuo is correct. He also thinks the new iPod touch will offer a 4-inch screen, a thinner body, full GPS support, a front-facing FaceTime camera capable of HD video chat, an improved 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, the faster A5 chip that's currently used in the iPad 2, Apple's new 9-pin dock connector and more. Kuo even suggests Apple may have some sort of software improvement available that will allow iPod touch users to control an iPad or Mac computer, MacRumors explained.

So what happens to the existing iPod touch devices? Kuo speculates that Apple may send them to the grave.
