Apple’s about to release a new iPhone model, and it could be a global hit despite multiple reports suggesting otherwise.

The iPhone XR will indeed give a major boost to Apple’s bottom line, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says. So far, it has outperformed last year’s iPhone 8 in pre-order demand. There might be increased interest in the iPhone XR due to its budget-friendly nature and cutting-edge technology. Its specifications can attract consumers with older iPhone models who skipped the iPhone 8.

Some analysts and even suppliers are concerned about units remaining in stock ahead of the release date. Multiple carriers and retailers aren’t issuing any delays, and suppliers are reportedly downgrading sales guidances for the rest of 2018. Now we wait and see how everything pans out.

By the way, consider getting AppleCare+ for the iPhone XR. It’s not exactly an inexpensive item to fix without some insurance.

If you aren’t going the pre-order route, you’ll be able to purchase the iPhone XR later this week. The global release date in many markets has been scheduled for Friday, October 26. It’ll join a lineup headed by the iPhone XS and XS Max.

When it arrives, we’ll get our hands on the iPhone XR and share our experience shortly after.
