Recently, a design schematic for the iPhone 8 surfaced online, showing off a unit with a Touch ID sensor on the back. However, a new case leak suggests that Apple may have found a way of baking a fingerprint reader into the handset’s alleged edge-to-edge OLED display.

The various cutout areas on the case also appear to corroborate a series of recent rumors pertaining to the so-called iPhone 8 sporting a vertically-positioned dual-lens camera, which was reportedly designed specifically for virtual reality purposes. Although, that’s far from confirmed.

It’s worth noting that while the design of the case looks somewhat promising and matches up to a leak shared by Benjamin Geskin, it should still be taken with a relatively hefty pinch of salt, as there’s a chance it may have been created based on the various schematics making the rounds online.

Apple may need a little more time to perfect the new features

Unfortunately, it looks like we’re going to have to wait longer than expected to see what Apple’s been working on as the unveiling of the iPhone 8 is rumored to have been pushed back while the firm perfects the slew of new features it’s set to pack.
