Two new images have appeared that show off what we may see from the 4.7 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models expected this year.
The very reliable Sonny Dickson has posted two photos that show off both the 4.7 and 5.5-inch models of the iPhone 6 from the front and the back. While he doesn’t state that either is a working model, they do both appear to be dummy units. Such versions of the 4.7-inch model, one of which we have in our office as well, have been circulating for some time now, but this is the first we’ve seen for the rumored 5.5-inch model.
Dickson didn’t provide any background information on the history of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 dummy in the picture, so we don’t know if someone simply tweaked the existing 4.7-inch schematics or if it was made using newly leaked information.
The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 rumors have been circulating for months now as a possible solution to how Apple will combat the growing popularity of phablets such as Samsung’s Galaxy Note line, but very little concrete evidence has appeared to support the rumors. Despite that, many in the mobile industry, from analysts to reporters, do believe the 5.5-inch model is indeed on its way this year, and these new photos could give us our first visual representation of what we can expect once it is announced.
You can check out the photos we shot recently of our 4.7-inch iPhone 6 dummy unit below. We shot it by itself and with other phones for size comparisons.
