If you’re not convinced Apple will release a gold iPhone this September, more pictures of the device’s rear plate have leaked, giving us even more evidence a third color exists. Multiple reports this week alone have surfaced claiming a gold model will indeed be introduced when Apple takes the stage next month, and we’ve seen enough pictures to fill a family album. If black and white aren’t your thing, you’ll have an all new color option to flash to your friends.
Acquired by AppAdvice, the high resolution images show off a near complete backplate of the gold iPhone 5S, along with the sim tray, the volume rocker, and a sleep/wake button. A previous report said the device will come with white accents, and that appears to be the case—maybe a black and gold option was just too much for Apple to handle. The pictures don’t provide much of anything we haven’t seen before, though the inside of the rear shell matches previous supposed iPhone 5S leaks.
Apple’s gold iPhone is allegedly a very calculated move the company hopes will attract consumers overseas. Alongside the Cupertino company’s supposed neon-colored iPhone 5C line, the gold will appear very premium indeed, like a beautiful piece of jewelry, a status symbol. We’re not that far off from Apple’s rumored Sept. 10 announcement date, so we’ll find out about the company’s fabled third color very soon.
