Apple made a lot of announcements today during a special event in California. If you’re looking for a quick breakdown on the mid-range iPhone 5C then you’ve come to the right place.
The iPhone 5C in a nutshell
New design: The iPhone 5C is about the same size as the current iPhone 5 and the upcoming 5S with the same 4-inch Retina Display, but comes in a unibody polycarbonate frame with rounded edges.
A6 Processor: The iPhone 5C is a step below the 5S and its A7 processor. The mid-range smartphone sports the same chipset seen in the iPhone 5.
Camera: The new smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera that shoots video at 1080p, and a 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD camera that shoots video at 720p.
iOS 7: The iPhone 5C runs Apple’s totally redesigned mobile operating system out of the box.
Colors: Pink, Blue, Yellow, Green and White. All models come with a black front panel.
Battery Life: Apple didn’t specify how long the iPhone 5C’s battery will last, but noted that it offers a higher capacity than the iPhone 5.
Price: The iPhone 5C costs $99 with a two-year contract or $199 for the 32GB version. T-Mobile will also offer an unlocked version of the iPhone 5C for $549.
Release Date: Available starting the Sept. 20. Pre-orders for the iPhone 5C will go live starting on Sept. 13.
