With all the leaked iPhone 5 parts floating around, it was only a matter of time before the device showed up unannounced at some place it absolutely wasn't supposed to — and it did just that at IFA in Berlin this past week. One unnamed case manufacturer decided to bring a dummy unit along to the event in order to show off its upcoming iPhone 5 wares.
While dummy units are often based on spec leaks and schematics, they're not always a 100 percent approximation of the overall experience. The one you see in the above video, filmed by GSM Israel News, looks exactly like all the leaked parts we've seen over the past several months: 4-inch screen, centered FaceTime cam, small doc and relocated headphone jack.
A few of iMore's staff also got some hands-on time with the iPhone 5 dummy unit at IFA, outlining the device's changes and confirming that it matched all the previous rumors we've heard about the handset. We'll always caution that we won't know what the device will look like with 100 percent certainty until Apple shows us on stage, but this is likely the final design.
We should, however, know for sure in less than two weeks when Apple takes the stage on Sept. 12.
