Apple's iPad (2018) got even less expensive. The budget-friendly tablet didn't undergo a price cut, but its maker decided to start selling refurbished units. Now you can purchase the latest iPad for as little as $279.
Before you get too worried about the term "refurbished," let's explain how Apple handles this. These iPad units are tested for full functionality. However, Apple goes the extra mile. All refurbished units of the iPad get a new outer shell, a new battery, and a one-year warranty. If you're not too satisfied for whatever reason, Apple attaches free returns.
The refurbished units are placed in a new box with all accessories and cables, too. Really, there's nothing to worry about when diving into Apple's refurbished bin. It's a fantastic way to score excellent devices while saving some money.
Here's the pricing for all configurations:
– 32GB, Wi-Fi for $279 ($50 off)
– 128GB, Wi-Fi for $369 ($60 off)
– 32GB, Wi-Fi + Cellular for $389 ($70 off)
– 128GB, Wi-Fi + Cellular for $479 ($80 off)
In-store pickup doesn't appear to be available yet, so you'll need to get the order shipped directly to a mailing address. Apple offers expedited shipping, though. Just be patient because, at the moment, the estimated arrival dates are no earlier than December 3. Maybe the refurbished units are starting to get distributed for full availability next week.
With the iPad, you're striking a balance between portability and power. It's not an all-out beast, but Apple inserted its A12 Fusion chip as well as Apple Pencil support. There's definitely be enough strength to drive all apps and games at a smooth pace.
