The iPad Pro has been on the market for a little over a week, but Apple’s already running into issues with the super-sized tablet. On Friday the company confirmed that some units simply refuse to turn on, though it offered a pretty simple solution as well.

If you’re new iPad Pro won’t wake up and the screen is black you should be able to bring it back to life with a “force restart.” To do this just hold down the Home and power buttons at the same time for at least ten seconds to trigger a full reboot. This should solve the problem, at least according to Apple.

The forced restart is actually a pretty good trick for fixing most issues with iOS devices when you’re otherwise stumped. It’s easy to forget that this is an option though, since it’s not something you have to think about most of the time. Still, if you’re having issues with any iPad, iPod or iPod Touch this will often solve the problem.

Apple also notes that it’s looking into the issue and promises to release more information as the investigation continues. It’s unclear if this is an problem with the iPad Pro hardware, iOS or both, though hopefully Cupertino can fix it without needing to recall the device.
