In addition to bestowing the iPad Pro with a sleeker design and improved Apple Pencil support, Apple will reportedly include some very beefy specs.
A report from MyDrivers claims Apple is currently developing an A11X Bionic chip destined for the iPad Pro. The new technology is said to be a step up from the iPhone X’s A11 Bionic processor and feature eight cores (three high-performance Monsoon cores and five energy-efficient Mistral cores).
The chip will make next year’s iPad Pro an incredibly powerful laptop alternative, and with Face ID reportedly coming to the tablet, it’ll be unlike any device in Apple’s lineup. With more Apple Pencil features and iOS 11, the 2018 iPad Pro could be a very compelling option.
Apple isn’t expected to unveil an update to its iPad Pro line until the spring of next year at the earliest. Until then, we can anticipate more details about the device to crop up.
What we do know is that the device will feature an updated design with minimal display bezels, along with support for an upgraded Apple Pencil. With the holidays coming up, it may be tempting to purchase an iPad Pro. But with a big redesign coming early next year, it may be worth it to wait.
