Apple is expected to refresh its current iPad mini with a new model that offers a Retina display. That successor to the super popular iPad mini will launch during the second half of this year a research analyst with DisplaySearch recently told CNET. While we're excited for that device, a better one might hit the market not long after.

"We see two refreshes coming," DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim explained to CNET. "One in the second half of this year then one in Q1 of 2014. The Q1 device will have a Retina display plus an updated processor."

We're not sure why Apple wouldn't just add the better processor to the second generation iPad mini, but fair warning: It looks like Apple's about to do back-to-back iPad refreshes yet again.
