Rumors surrounding the Oct. 23 Apple event are swirling at a feverish pace, and it looks like the full-sized iPad may be joining in the party.
While the iPad mini introduction along side refreshes of the iMac, Mac mini and 13-inch MacBook Pro seem to be a lock for next Tuesday, one thing we haven’t heard about for a bit is a refresh of the third generation iPad. There had been some rumors a few months back that Apple would take this opportunity to add the new Lightning connector to the 9.7-inch tablet, but those whispers had died down as of late.
According to a new report from 9to5Mac, those rumors are indeed back and we will see a refreshed New iPad with Lightning along with Global LTE support. Supposedly that is the extent of the improvements, but there is a possibility to also see things like the processor, battery and so on receiving tweaks as well. The pricing is said to remain the same as the current models.
There is no indication of where 9to5Mac obtained this information, but the site has an excellent track record when it comes to such information. It sounds like it’s going to be a very busy day next Tuesday, so stay tuned to TechnoBuffalo for all of your Apple event news.
