Apple iPhone 6-2

Apple just released iOS 8.2 beta 3 for developers testing the new platform. iOS 8.2 is the beta that's currently being tested with the inclusion of Apple Watch features and will very likely be the version of the operating system that's released to the public before Apple begins selling the Apple Watch. It also includes support for Apple WatchKit. Today's release follows the deployment of iOS 8.2 beta 2, which was launched on Dec. 10.

According to Apple's release, first spotted by 9to5Mac, the update includes bug fixes and improvements. One bug fix that developers have been complaining about is related to Wi-Fi performance, though it's not immediately clear if that has been fixed in this release. iOS 8.2 beta 3 includes Apple's latest Xcode software, Xcode 6.2 beta 3, MacRumors said.

Keep in mind that, according to web files spotted recently, Apple may have another small patch before the larger iOS 8.2 deployment. The smaller version being tested is iOS 8.1.3 but, again, it's unclear what that will offer when it hits.

Developers interested in using iOS 8.2 beta 3 should update to the new version now, please let us know if you spot any major changes besides the bug fixes and performance tweaks noted by Apple.
