The development of iOS 11.4 has been slow going since the first beta was released at the beginning of April, but Apple on Tuesday took one step toward a final release. The company has begun rolling out beta 3 of iOS 11.4, which comes with all the features we saw in the previous two beta releases, including Messages in iCloud.
No addition to iOS 11.4 beta 3 are known at this time, but we’ll be sure to update this post should significant changes be unearthed. The previous two beta releases include AirPlay 2 when used with tvOS 11.4, along with wallpapers that were exclusive to the Product Red editions of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
Apple seeded the second beta for iOS 11.4 to developers on Monday. The update comes just over two weeks after the release of the first beta for the latest iPhone software.
iOS 11.4 brings along many of the major iOS 11 updates Apple has yet to release, including Messages on iCloud and AirPlay 2. Messages on iCloud appeared in the first beta of iOS 11.4 after disappearing in the later beta versions of iOS 11.3. AirPlay 2 has gone through similar availability process through multiple betas.
Some of the other features iOS 11.4 will add include the Apple’s new education-focused services like the Schoolwork app for students. And of course, the usual clean up of performance and bug fixes comes along as well.
The second beta for iOS 11.4 is now available for all developers and should be rolling out to public beta testers in the coming days.
