While the underlying message will remain the same, T-Mobile doesn’t plan on name-dropping the iPhone in marketing material going forward. An internal memo sent to TmoNews reveals that the carrier has no further plans to use the name or image of Apple’s famous smartphone, but will remain committed to its newly minted BYOD policy. iPhone demo devices will still be used for training purposes at T-Mobile locations, so not much beyond a few nips and tucks will change. It’s not clear what prompted the adjustment — Apple lawyers, T-Mobile execs — but it’s clear the company will no longer specifically call the device out, no matter how badly it wishes the iPhone was officially offered through the carrier.
