NetherRealm Studios is at it again. They've announced the sequel to the DC Comics brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us officially this morning. You can dig into the brand new announcement trailer above.

Injustice 2 will sell for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though we won't see it until 2017. The press release didn't detail the launch date any further than that.

Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm, was quoted in the release. He offers that the studio is "introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games." Lofty goals, right? He continues…

"We're always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customize and level-up their favorite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap."

Injustice 2

The funny bit in all of this is that Injustice 2 leaked yesterday. Boon was a good sport about it and joked about the leak without genuinely confirming the game. The leak came from a GameStop ad, so Boon fired this off in response.

We'll have more on Injustice 2 as it comes.
