Online petitions are always a silly thing. There's multiple signing lists for just about every want, need, demand or request under the sun, despite the fact that they typically do absolutely nothing from the moment they're started to the moment they're closed.

Which begs the question: why do people keep making them?

Well, here's more fuel to that creation fire. Dark Souls fans were told that if enough support for a PC version of the massively challenging game was culled up, Namco Bandai may consider making the port. Fans took that news and created a petition that's been tremendously successful.

One of Namco Bandai's forum admins posted this in response to the fact that the survey had exploded:

I honestly wasn't expecting such a massive support. My boss(es) even came to talk to me about this, after it explodes all around the world. If you wanted to have the attention of Namco Bandai Games, now you have it.

The future is in your hands, and I hope you will keep supporting this.

I make a personal objective to make sure every relevant people in Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort.

Great Thanks!

An online petition that's, I can't believe I'm writing this, actually working? Wow.

If you're a PC gamer and you'd like a crack at the exceptionally wonderful and difficult Dark Souls, sign this petition. You may actually play a small part in bringing the game to a completely new audience of players.
