When Alcatel first introduced the IDOL 3 smartphone, it revealed two iterations, the normal version that’s already available and a smaller, more palm-friendly IDOL 3 4.7. The latter is finally launching this week, and the pricing will put it in direct competition with phones like the Moto G.

Available this Friday for $179.99 unlocked, the IDOL 3 4.7 features a 1280 x 720-pixel display (it measures 4.7-inches if you haven’t already gathered that), 16GB of expandable storage, 1.5GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a Snapdragon 410 processor, a 2,000mAh battery and Android 5.0.2

The pricing is right up there with the Moto G, and it’s cheaper than the larger IDOL 3 which costs $250. Sure, you don’t get the customization options of the Moto G, but you get a more premium looking design and what should be a very solid affordable handset. Look for it on sale this Friday from Alcatel’s website and Amazon in the U.S. and Canada.
