We're less than two weeks away from the launch of Huawei's next flagship, the P30 series, and the company has begun issuing a few cryptic teasers. We've already been told that the handset will offer four cameras, one of which will be a periscope style camera, as well as that it will offer excellent night photography as part of a bid to rewrite the rules of photography.
Now, the company has shared an infographic with us that outlines the history of the P series, as well as how the P30 will continue what's made the P series great. What is that DNA? Looking right back to the Huawei P9 – and then onwards to the P10 and the P20 – it's clear that the P series has always focused on advancing smartphone photography. Beyond the camera, the P series has always featured a signature style, with the P20 Pro especially striking in its gradient-laden glory.
What will the P30 offer? The company is, understandably, being quite coy on the specific features but the Infographic does lead us to believe it'll offer more. Specifically, the infographic highlights several key "advancements".
Headlines such as More Beauty lead us to believe we'll see yet another glorious gradient on the P30 series. More Detail suggests an advancement in the camera, beyond everything we already know about the P30 series. More advanced, more features and more battery point towards improvements throughout the phone, whereas more convenient suggests advancements in how AI helps your day to day usage of a phone.
Huawei also reiterated the tag line of the P30, which is to rewrite the rules. This points to what the company has told us previously – the P30 series will aim to advance smartphone photography in a way that hasn't been done before. We're incredibly excited by the potential of the periscope camera in particular – 10X zoom anybody? – and we can't wait to see what Huawei has to show us!
The P30 series will launch on March 26 in Paris and we'll be there reporting live! Stay tuned for what could be one of the best smartphone camera phones of the year.
